Back pain can be confusing, frustrating, and expensive.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution.

You need a customized, specific approach.

Let’s build an understanding of your back pain.

As a 70-something man with over 40 years of back problems, I didn’t have high hopes of ever finding a real solution. But a condition that I had been sort of managing (barely) for decades finally began to worsen enough that I ventured to think outside the box a little.

Listening to my story and looking me over, Tae decided that strengthening the hips would be the key to improving the back. It sounded a bit dubious, but after literally one session of probing and dry needling,my back began to improve; indeed, it began to feel like it rarely if ever had before.

Tae likes to repeat that “My goal is for you not to need me any more,” a worthy ambition that a cynic might see as an effective marketing device. In my case, it is becoming literally true. After a grand total of four meetings, where he supplied me with a growing array of regular exercises for self-maintenance, I feel I have achieved exactly the “reset” that I originally told him I was seeking. It’s been over two months now, and I have no intention of ever returning to Tae’s office—unless problems recur, in which case I will not hesitate to do so.

Each body is different, of course, but I can’t think of a health intervention in my entire life that has been quite so decidedly or immediately successful as this one; I owe Tae an enormous debt of gratitude.

I see Dr. Tae for a complicated, long standing spinal problem. Because I had been using arm crutches for decades to increase my walking capacity, I had also developed secondary shoulder and arm issues as well. And there’s more…like TMJ and a benign but miserable form of vertigo. Fortunately for me, Dr. Tae is incredibly smart, skilled and kind. He has an unparalleled fund of knowledge and many different techniques and methods to approach my issues. The weekly office treatments immediately lowered my pain level. Equally as important, he developed a more relevant and thorough home therapy program that builds on and expands what we do in the office. Dr. Tae is encouraging and motivating-he’s truly fun to work with and despite the challenges in front and ahead of me, I am continuing to make progress. As a physician, I am awed by his knowledge, techniques and dedication to his work.
